DiDonato Associates, a family-owned business, was founded in 1965 by Norman DiDonato as Weber, DiDonato and Renaldo, a well-respected architectural and engineering firm completing such high-profile projects as the Convention Center and the Erie Basin Marina.
Over the years, the other partners left the business and Norman continued on his own as DiDonato Associates. His son John DiDonato, who joined the company in 1985 while attending UB, and long-time employee, Greg Hewitt, became partners in 1989.
In 2018, our beloved founder, Norman, passed away (see Tribute) and John and Greg became Owners of the company.
In 2022, Greg Hewitt retired and several of the firm’s Discipline Leaders became Owners/ Principals of the company ensuring the core values and character of DiDonato Associates will carry on.
Today, the firm continues to have an excellent reputation in the Western New York community and is proud of the amount of repeat business from clients that are extremely pleased with our services. For example, we have worked with NFTA at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport since 1984. In addition, we have provided a variety of A/E services to Erie County at Highmark Stadium (formerly New Era, Ralph Wilson, and Rich Stadium) since 1989, and we have continually worked on projects for the City of Buffalo and Erie County since our establishment in the mid-60s.
