Construction Monitoring

DiDonato Associates provided Construction Monitoring Services for the new Air Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF) Facility at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BNIA).

Our Construction Monitoring (CM) Team documented and maintained records during construction, worked with/assisted NFTA’s Resident Engineer, and interacted professionally with Contractor and Design Support personnel as required to ensure that the new ARFF was constructed in compliance with construction documents (CDs), and in conformance with Construction Safety Phasing Plan (CSPP) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).

The new 24,500 SF facility includes bays for firefighting apparatus and a vehicle storage garage; administrative offices; dormitories; a kitchen; locker and shower rooms; and training, dispatch, conference, and communications rooms.

The project also included new concrete driveways and aprons connecting to the adjacent airport service road and vehicle storage garage, and a new vehicle access road providing a direct connection to the airport’s runways and taxiways.
